The innovative PTFE shield on the unit reduces the exterior exposed surface temperature by as much as 100C. For example, the PTFE shield would be approximately 80C on a 100mL flask that is heated to 180C. The OPT100 is used for 100mL round bottom flasks.

Inlet Valve, Chem-Cap, High Vacuum, Complete. Designed to be used as a vent or inlet valve for vacuum systems. Can also be used to construct AIRFREE or Schlenk glassware in place of the standard straight bore glass stopcock. This totally grease-free valve does not require a sidearm since the valve has a bore that runs through the plug and an integral machined-on serrated hose connection for attachment to the vacuum or inert gas source. The primary seal is made on the precision tooled seat with the shaft seal being made with a Chem-Cap encased o-ring. The bore is 4mm with an 8mm OD hose connection.
